Summer Music

We all love summer: Sunshine, vacation, lots of time to eat icecream and see your friends. However, it seems like my lovely country has forgotten that it is supposed to be summer: the last week has been nothing but rain. But ofcourse, we won't let the wheather spoil this wonderful season!

To get myself into summermood anyway, I listen to Radio 6. They broadcast an awesome mix of sunny jazz, world music and other sounds that make you forget the bad wheather! So start your own summer!

The comments are in Dutch, but it's all about the music anyway! Hope you enjoy it, guys, and remember, at least it's not snowing!

Love,
Jinte

I'm back!

Yes, it has been a while since I posted anything, but I have an excuse! For the last 6 months, I have been travelling all around the world with non profit youth organisation Up With People! Together with 100 amazing young people from 21 different countries, I have done community service in a.o. the US, The Netherlands, Switzerland, and Mexico. And in every city we visited, we performed a multi cultural show full of music and dances from all over the world! It was an incredible and unforgettable experience.

During these six months, I've got to know so many new people: The people I travelled with, but also the amazing host families that I stayed with. They are the ones that made my trip so wonderful. And as I returned home, met my old friends that I had missed so much, and started Skyping with my fellow travellers, I realised that that is what makes life truly awesome: Friends.

It sounds obvious, but do you really spend enough time with your friends? They are the ones that make you laugh, the ones that are always there when you are sad, the ones that take you out when they see you feel lonely... When was the last time you told your friends that you loved them? Gave them a big big hug?

Fortunately, summer is the perfect time to spend time with your friends! Organise a big dinner for all your friends (you don't even have to make something difficult, just a big pan of pasta and salad and ,ofcourse, lots of wine!), have a picnic in the park, organise a girls movie and facial night, or spend an entire day watching cheesy movies.

So next time you're sitting in front of your laptop by yourself, you'll know who to invite! And you'll see, your friends will really make your day!

And finally, to all my friends who read this: Thank you for making my life so AWESOME!

Love,
Jinte
